The Wheaton partnership

What being a Wheaton agent actually means for your move.

Most international moves are sold by a broker and handed to whoever is cheapest at each leg. An agent relationship works differently: Move-Pros is accountable for your shipment, and Wheaton's global resources are what we use to deliver it.

  • Our crew packs your home

The people who wrap your belongings for export are Move-Pros employees out of Hayward, not a subcontracted crew you meet on the day.

  • Wheaton's network carries it

Through Wheaton we work with some of the world's largest international moving companies, so your shipment moves on established lanes with partners who are already vetted.

  • One coordinator, both ends

You call the same person in Hayward about the survey, the customs forms, the sailing date and the delivery. No handoff chain, no new case number.

  • Experience that corporate moves demand

We provide international services for some of California's largest multinational companies, and our crews work with families from every background and language.

What's included

Door to door, not port to port.

An international quote from Move-Pros covers the whole journey. Nothing is left for you to arrange at the other end.

Free survey and written quote

An in-home or video survey of everything that's going, so the volume, the mode and the cost are based on your actual belongings.

Export packing and crating

Overseas shipping is harder on furniture than a cross-town move. Everything is packed to export standard, with custom crates for art, antiques and anything fragile.

Customs documentation

We prepare the customs forms your destination requires and check them before they go, because a paperwork error is what strands a shipment at the port.

Ocean freight

Sole-use containers for a full household, or shared container space when your shipment doesn't fill one on its own.

Air freight

For the things you cannot be without while the container is at sea, or for a small shipment where speed matters more than cost.

Destination delivery

Clearance at the far end, delivery to the new address, unpacking, reassembly and removal of the packing debris.

How it runs

Six stages, one coordinator.

  1. Weeks out

    Survey

We walk the home, in person or by video, and list what is shipping, what is storing and what is staying.

  2. Weeks out

    Plan and quote

Ocean or air, the sailing or flight window, the documents you will need, and the cost — in writing.

  3. Pack week

    Export packing

Our crew packs and inventories everything to export standard and builds crates for the pieces that need them.

  4. Pack week

    Documents filed

Customs paperwork is completed, checked and submitted so nothing holds the shipment at either border.

  5. In transit

    Ocean or air

Your shipment moves through Wheaton's network. You follow it online and your coordinator flags every milestone.

  6. Arrival

    Clear and deliver

Customs clearance at destination, delivery to the new address, unpacking, reassembly, debris removed.

Wheaton World Wide Moving

Stages five and six run on the Wheaton World Wide Moving network. Move-Pros stays your point of contact the whole way, so the questions you have while the shipment is at sea go to the same coordinator who packed your home.

Ocean or air

Which way your shipment should travel.

Most households use both: the bulk goes by sea, a small air shipment covers the gap until it lands.

Ocean freight

The default for a full household. Furniture, appliances, books and everything else that can wait travels by container.

Best for
Whole-home shipments and anything heavy or bulky
Container options
Sole-use for a full household, or shared space when your shipment won't fill one
Trade-off
The most cost-effective way to move volume, at the cost of weeks rather than days in transit

Air freight

For what you need in the first weeks, and for shipments small enough that speed costs less than storage would.

Best for
Clothing, kitchen basics, work equipment, children's things
How it pairs
Sent alongside an ocean shipment so you are set up before the container arrives
Trade-off
Days instead of weeks, at a higher cost per pound and a tighter weight allowance

Transit times depend on the lane, the season and customs at the destination. Your coordinator quotes the real window for your origin and destination rather than a brochure average.

Who we move overseas

Wherever the Bay Area is headed next.

Silicon Valley sends people everywhere, and we have packed homes for most versions of that story. Tell us the destination address and we will confirm the lane, the mode and the paperwork it needs.

  • Corporate relocations and assignments abroad
  • Families moving for a new job
  • Academics and researchers on placement
  • Returning home after years in the States
  • Retirees moving overseas
  • Partial shipments into furnished housing

Start the conversation

Every international move starts with a survey.

Tell us where you are going and roughly when. A coordinator will book a free in-home or video survey, then put the mode, the timeline, the documents and the cost in writing before you commit to anything.
